Tammy Ramirez, Deputy Director of School and Community Engagement

Tammy Ramirez serves as the Deputy Director of School and Community and Engagement. Tammy supports 23 schools in the North East San Fernando Valley and liaises with 8 neighborhood councils. Tammy thrives on building relationships and collaborative partnerships to bring more resources to schools in Board District 3.

Prior to serving Board District 3, Tammy spent eight years serving LAUSD Board District 4 as Deputy Director of School and Community Affairs. She served Hollywood, Fairfax, West Los Angeles and the Pacific Palisades areas to support instructional pipelines, partnerships, and projects.

Tammy earned a B.A. in Latin American Studies, and M.A. in Urban Planning with an emphasis in Community Economic Development and Affordable Housing from UCLA. Before joining LAUSD, Tammy worked as a fifth grade teacher in New Mexico and in Data Processing for Sheppard Mullin Richter and Hampton. Tammy is married and has two young girls.
