WHAT THE COMMITTEE LEARNED:

Before starting the first presentation, we celebrated by acknowledging the work and life of Board President Jackie Goldberg.

  • Presentation 1 – ELOP
  • The allocation of ELOP funds is based on T-6th grade average attendance and funds several after-school programs, including ELA, math, arts, summer school, winter academy, field trips, and more.
  • ELOP funds must be spent within two years; therefore, $364.1m, the carryover from the previous year, must be spent by July 30; otherwise, the state will rescind the remaining amount.
  • STEAM, STEM, Robotics, and Climate Literacy has served 334 schools and 14,320 students around the district.
  • Cultural Arts Passport, Arts Acceleration, and the Arts Fest 2024 were part of the expansion of the arts and in part funded by ELOP.
  • ELOP paid for college and enrichment field trips in part to explore interests that included arts and sports camps.
  • Fifty-two schools participated in internships, and 564 students participated in the internship program to explore careers in education.
