PAST BOARD MEETINGS

LAist covered the election results (including a short podcast about the swearing in) here and published this explainer about the Board.

HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS

Board President Schmerelson  had a great time making Gingerbread Houses at Calahan ES, at the Chatsworth Holiday Parade and the Granada Hills Holiday Parade.

Board Member Schmerelson strongly believes that since the Board Member Priority (BMP) funds come from bond measures passed by the voters, every one of his 105 schools should benefit from these investments.    We are proud to announce that we have completed the second round of funding for all BD3 schools! To see all the facilities improvements since 2015, click here and the Facilities Upgrades Highlights here.

Board Member Schmerelson takes great pride in ensuring every BD3 school gets his attention and assistance. That’s why he visits every school every year, at least once.  This is how he gets a real sense of the learning that’s going on in the classroom and what schools need, which helps him in his policy-making.  To see videos of these visits and the specific improvements he’s supported, on a school-by-school basis, click here.
