Claudia Vizcarra is Board Member Schmerelson’s Communications Director.
In this role, Claudia manages our social media accounts, our website and communications with our constituents.
Prior to this, Claudia was Communications Director for Californians Together, a statewide organization that advocates for English Learners, where she directed the Alas y Voz campaign to promote bilingual programs among Spanish speaking families across California. She also served as Chief of Staff to former LAUSD Board President Steve Zimmer and was a Communications Specialist at UCLA’s Institute for Democracy, Education and Access. She earned her B.A. in Journalism, Broadcasting and Film and Sociology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
Claudia is originally from Mexico City and is the proud mother of two young adults.
