Here’s what happened at the Board meeting on 4/9/24

 School Developer Fees  

  • The School Fee Justification Study has been updated to reflect the State Allocation Board’s increase in developer fees to $5.17 per square foot for residential construction and $0.84 per square foot for commercial/industrial construction.
  • These new developer fees will allow the District to raise funds for the construction of new school facilities and reconstruction to accommodate the increased student population from development projects. 

Improvements for schools

  • A bench contract ($400,000) for afterschool services in 81 BD3 schools:
  • Contract for $303,000 will provide new green spaces or upgrades with planting trees, plants for Capistrano Ave ES
  • Board District Priority Projects:
    • Andasol ES – Exterior lunch tables – $62,308 
    • Dixie Canyon Community Charter ES – Install new electronic, free standing marquee – $32,069
    • Mayall Academy of Arts and Tech Magnet ES – Parent Center Furniture – $13,802 – 
  • Internet Protocol Converge Projects at Rinaldi Adult Center Adult and Career Education Campuses to install new PA systems, network equipment, data network, wireless access points, and cameras $1,916,078
